The blastomussa
Blastomussa is an interesting LPS coral because it closely resembles mushrooms. They are an easy-care coral with modest flow and light requirements. In fact, we've found that they tend to do better in low-light conditions. They are also easy to feed, making them a great choice for beginner aquarists who want to try and maintain LPS.

Localization
Indo-Pacific - Blastomussa can be found on islands in the Indo-Pacific, including Fiji, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. The vast majority that are seen in the hobby come from Australia, but some of the most strikingly rare color forms are from Indonesia.
Lighting
Blastomussa is one of the few corals that appreciate dim light. Some specimens expand better and take on much more vibrant colors under soft lighting, while having difficulties under very bright lights.

Water flux
Moderate water movement is recommended. Blastomussa doesn't seem particularly picky about the type of flow it gets. We have successfully kept them in either low or strong Reef aquariums with no negative effects on coral health.
Food
Blastomussa corals can be fed a mixture of meaty foods such as krill pieces or mysis shrimp. As with most LPS, nutrition is a big part of the key to success. Feeding 2-3 times a week is recommended.
