Murdannia keisak
€5.90
Murdannia keisak is an unusual and very attractive stem plant native to the wetlands of East and Southeast Asia, where it grows along lake margins, rice fields and flooded ground.
It forms compact clusters of olive-green leaves, sometimes with purplish tones, arranged elegantly along the stem. In open-top aquariums it can grow above the water line and produce small flowers, creating a wonderfully natural effect.
This is a medium-growth plant, ideal for the midground and for softening the transition between foreground and background plants. With good lighting and added CO2 it becomes even denser and more colourful. It is undemanding and suits both elaborate aquascapes and community aquariums.
Planting tip: plant individual stems with tweezers, leaving some space between them so they develop into a clump. Regular trimming encourages more compact growth.
