The fish tends to lose some of its color as it ages, being more attractive when young, but that does not mean adults are not interesting. They have a silvery longitudinal stripe with a slight bluish tint and the dorsal and caudal fins in a strong red tone. An aquarium for Tanictis should have many plants so the fish feels more at ease and a group of at least five fish, since in nature they live in schools. The temperature should not be too high, the ideal is around 23 C, and regarding pH, keep it slightly acidic.
