Attributes
Pseudotropheus demasoni is a small Mbuna cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi, highly prized in the hobby for its electric-blue colouration with dark vertical stripes. It is one of the most popular dwarf Mbuna, reaching about 7-8 cm. As a territorial and aggressive species, like most Mbuna, it should be kept in groups in a tank well decorated with rocks forming caves and hiding spots, leaving open swimming space. It feeds mainly on algae and the rock bio-cover, readily accepting dry foods rich in spirulina.
