AZOO Triple Black Water - Ideal Blackwater for Amazonian Fish
Triple Black Water instantly transforms tap water into the ideal "blackwater" for Amazonian fish. This product is specifically designed to replicate the unique conditions of the Amazon River and its tributaries, which are famous for their acidic, soft water rich in dissolved organic matter.
The Amazon River is home to the largest extent, biomass, and biodiversity on the planet. Its colossal river system features a wide range of aquatic environments that support some of the most unique and complex biotopes, some still unknown to man. As a result, the aquarium hobby worldwide has benefited from countless species originating from this privileged ecosystem, aiming to replicate these diverse conditions in home aquariums.
One of the most famous and radical biotopes attracting attention from aquarium enthusiasts is the “blackwater” biotope. For much of the year, the water is rich in decomposed plant matter and organic materials, transported by slow-flowing channels with soft water and high temperatures, often above 30°C.
These decomposed organic materials dissolve quickly into the water, providing essential nutrients and organic compounds that accumulate, drastically affecting the water quality. The water typically takes on a range of hues, from “tea” to dark “coffee.” Additionally, this process creates severe physical-chemical conditions: acidic pH, high temperature, and low conductivity, hardness, and dissolved oxygen levels, forcing its inhabitants to adapt to these extreme conditions.
To replicate this complex environment in an aquarium, soft, slightly acidic water is essential, and a temperature range between 28°C and 32°C should be maintained. To complete the chemical environment, a specific additive like Triple Black Water from AZOO Plus is required, as producing this water at home would be time-consuming and virtually impossible.
Triple Black Water transforms tap water into the ideal blackwater for Amazonian fish. It is recommended to use soft water for this process.
