More info
Main Features:
- Efficient growth without CO2: Ideal for those who want to avoid the costs, risks, and maintenance of high-pressure CO2 systems or simply for those who want to maintain a beautiful aquarium with a variety of plants but don't have access to CO2 refill stations near their home.
- High-quality volcanic material: Enhances nutrient absorption and maximizes substrate activation, reducing dependency on traditional photosynthesis.
- Control of unwanted algae: Significantly reduces algae growth, ensuring a clean and healthy aquarium.
- Proven results: Under identical conditions (filtration, lighting, etc.), compared to an aquarium with NEO Soil Plants and a professional pressurized CO2 system, NEO Soil NO-CO2 (without a CO2 system) achieves the following results:
- Carpet plant growth: Growth rate (speed) approximately 50%-60% compared to traditional CO2 systems with NEO Soil Plants.
- Growth of other aquatic plants: Growth rate of 70%-80% compared to a similar aquarium with NEO Soil Plants and a CO2 system.
- Color development: 80%-90%.
Why choose NEO Soil NO CO2?
- Economic and safe alternative: Perfect for users looking for an efficient system without the complications of pressurized CO2 or the inconvenience of refilling bottles, yet still achieving good results with a variety of plants.
- Easy to maintain: Does not require bulky or dangerous equipment, making it ideal for small spaces or beginner aquarists.
- Versatile: While designed for CO2-free aquariums, it can also be used with CO2 systems, yielding surprising results.

How does NEO Soil NO CO2 work?
This product is rich in all the necessary ingredients for bacterial reproduction.
Bacteria grow rapidly and produce the CO2 needed for aquatic plants, which dissolves in the water due to water pressure.
In fact, CO2 bubbles can be observed rising from the substrate.
With maximum substrate activation, it activates beneficial bacteria, suppresses harmful bacteria, and does not compact, making rooting very easy.

Which substrate should we choose?
The NEO Soil NO CO2 version contains about 50% of the nutrients compared to NEO Soil Plants.
Growth and color development using NEO Soil Plants with a high-pressure CO2 device (normal version) are better than the NEO Soil NO CO2 version.
Under the same conditions (lighting, temperature, water quality, water changes), the NO CO2 version has a color development rate of about 80-90% and a growth rate of about 50-80% compared to the previous NEO Soil version (Plants + CO2 system).
The reason growth (60-80%) and color development (80-90%) exceed the fertilizer content proportion (about 50%) is due to the perfect fertilizer absorption and substrate activation.
Unwanted algae rarely appear in the NEO Soil NO CO2 version.
If the customer has or plans to buy a CO2 kit, NEO Soil Plants is the best choice for their aquarium. However, the NO CO2 version is best for those without a CO2 kit.
How to use:
1) Spread the substrate evenly in the aquarium. Do not wash the substrate beforehand.
2) To improve the aquarium's perspective and aesthetics, it is recommended to use less substrate thickness in the front and more at the back.
3) Slowly fill the aquarium, avoiding direct water impact on the substrate.
Notices:
1) This product alone does not guarantee successful planting. Other elements (lighting, fertilization, water change routine, filtration, etc.) must align with the type of plants to be maintained.
2) For initial nutrient control, follow the water change routine below:
- First 15 days: 50% water change every two days.
- Second 15 days: 50% water change every three days.
- After the first month: Start fertilizing with NEO Fluid NO CO2 (every three days) and change 50% of the water weekly.
Warnings:
※ One month after installation, begin fertilizing with NEO Fluid NO CO2.
※ Sufficient filtration, high-quality lighting, and periodic water changes are required for healthy aquatic plant growth.
※ Initially, it has a strong odor, may create sludge, or cause cloudy water, but this is normal and will disappear over time.
※ Bubbles may form in the substrate due to activation.
※ Use only for aquariums and keep out of reach of pets and children.
※ Do not mix or cover with other substrates. Use it as a standalone substrate.
