AquaEl Bioceramax 1200
AquaEl Bioceramax 1200
Product Description:
The AquaEl Bioceramax 1200 is a highly efficient biological filtration material designed for use in aquariums. It comes in the form of porous ceramic cylinders that provide a massive filtration surface area of 1200 m² per liter.
How BioCeraMAX 1200 Works:
Over time, beneficial nitrifying bacteria strains from the Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira genera colonize the inner surfaces of the BioCeraMAX 1200 cylinders placed in your aquarium's filter. These microorganisms metabolize toxic fish waste products, such as ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrospira), into much safer nitrates, ensuring a healthier environment for your fish.
Where and When BioCeraMAX 1200 Works:
The BioCeraMAX 1200 is suitable for use as a filter media in canister filters, hang-on-back filters, internal filters (e.g., AQUAEL TURBOFILTER), sumps, ponds, and more. It can be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums and is especially recommended for tanks with large or numerous fish.
How to Use BioCeraMAX 1200:
BioCeraMAX is ready for immediate use and does not require rinsing or any additional preparation. Simply pour the contents of the package into your filter basket or filtration chamber. For optimal results, it's recommended to place the BioCeraMAX 1200 insert behind mechanical and chemical filtration cartridges.
Recommended Dosage:
For AQUAEL filters such as UNIMAX 150, UNIMAX 250, MIDIKANI 800, MINIKANI 80, MINIKANI 120, ASAP, and VERSAMAX, one liter of BioCeraMAX 1200 is recommended. For other filters, one liter is suitable for approximately 250 liters of aquarium capacity.
Replacement and Maintenance:
The BioCeraMAX 1200 insert can be used for an extended period without replacement but may slowly wear down due to abrasion, reducing its effectiveness. To maintain optimal performance, it's advisable to replace approximately one-third of the insert every 6-12 months. When cleaning the filter, rinse the cartridge in drained aquarium water to avoid sterilization.
Important Note:
Do not rinse BioCeraMAX 1200 with tap water to prevent sterilization.
