The Ziss Aqua ZBS-150 and ZBS-200 are high-performance, air-driven bio filters designed to provide crystal-clear, healthy water in both freshwater and marine aquariums. These filters use advanced moving bed filtration technology, in which the filter media is kept in constant motion, promoting superior biological filtration and highly effective breakdown of waste compounds such as ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.
Known as Bubble Bio Filters, both models operate with the help of an external air pump (not included), which continuously circulates air through the filter. This movement enhances the biological activity within the filter media, ensuring excellent oxygenation and degassing of harmful substances. As a result, the ZBS filters help keep Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) values low – key indicators of clean, stable water quality.
By maintaining low BOD and COD, these filters contribute to significantly delayed algae growth and overall healthier aquarium conditions. Both models include ZM-1 filter media, which has an exceptional lifespan of up to 15 years, making these filters highly efficient and low-maintenance solutions for long-term aquarium care.
The ZBS-150 features a compact, vertical design with a weighted base to ensure stability, while the ZBS-200 offers a larger version for tanks requiring greater filtration capacity.
