More info
Hygrophila polysperma ‘White’ (Tropica 050A TC) is a distinctive and rare cultivar of the well-known Hygrophila polysperma. This variety stands out for its pale green to almost white foliage, which creates a striking contrast with darker green and red plants in planted aquariums. Its bright coloration makes it an excellent accent plant in aquascaping layouts.
Like the classic Hygrophila polysperma, this cultivar is generally fast-growing and adaptable to a wide range of aquarium conditions. However, stronger lighting helps maintain the lighter coloration of the leaves. With adequate nutrients and stable conditions, it forms dense groups of stems that can be trimmed and replanted to create bushy plant clusters.
CO₂ injection is not strictly necessary but improves growth and overall plant health. Regular fertilization, particularly micronutrients and iron, helps maintain vibrant foliage and strong development. Due to its relatively fast growth rate, occasional trimming is recommended to keep the plant compact.
