More info
Some corals and red calcareous algae, in addition to calcium and strontium, also store magnesium in their skeleton. This has a direct biochemical participation in algal photosynthesis, in the conversion of carbon dioxide and light into organic compounds. Therefore, magnesium is one of the most important minerals in aquarium water.
Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium optimally provides magnesium and carbon dioxide biologically in order to avoid magnesium deficiency in salt water and establish a natural concentration ratio between alkaline earth metals. These are basic requirements for a healthy coral reef in the aquarium.
Benefits:
- Biologically ideal source of magnesium in crystalline form in the reef aquarium
- Provides magnesium for strong bone growth of corals and calcareous red algae
- Provides carbon dioxide for zooxanthellae to promote photosynthesis and calcareous skeleton formation
- The natural composition of the ions and the pH value of the water remain unchanged
- No artificial by-products
- No phosphates or nitrates
- Exact dosage and very simple application
Ingredients:
magnesium, sodium and potassium salts, as well as 70 micronutrients
Application and Dosage:
Natural salt water has an average magnesium content of 1280–1300 mg/l. First, measure the magnesium concentration of your aquarium water and estimate the volume of water in your tank taking into account the decoration (stones, among others).
Dust
The addition of a measuring spoon of Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium increases the magnesium content by approximately 10 mg/l for every 100 l of water.
Maximum recommended dose: 2 measuring spoons for 100 liters of aquarium water per day!
Fill the measuring spoon with Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium (use a scraper) for application. The contents of the measuring spoon should be evenly spread over the surface of the water. Ensure corals do not come into direct contact with larger crystals of undissolved Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium. To prevent the water from becoming cloudy, add the next spoon only after the previous one has dissolved.
Liquid
The addition of 50 ml of Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium Liquid per 100 l increases the magnesium content by 25 mg/l.
Maximum recommended dose: 50 ml in 100 l of aquarium water per day.
Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium Liquid can be added to the aquarium water manually or using a dosing pump.
To refill the bottle, 450 g of Tropic Marin® Bio-Magnesium in crystalline form can be made up of up to 1 l of solution with reverse osmosis water.
Magnesium concentrations above 1600 mg/l should be avoided, as different organisms may react negatively to extremely high magnesium levels.
Over time, the density of water may increase slightly. So check the density regularly. In addition to the magnesium concentration, the calcium content must also be observed.
