Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium Powder is highly concentrated calcium and alkalinity for dissolving in reverse osmosis water to obtain the proven Carbocalcium solution. After dissolution, a single solution is able to cover all the calcium and alkalinity requirements of a typical reef aquarium, without producing additional unwanted compounds or excess carbon dioxide. This ensures strong growth of corals, coralline algae and other reef organisms.
The highly productive product is suitable for all aquarium sizes and prevents the side effects and other hardening methods of calcium carbonate: the pH value remains stable; there is no excess of CO2 and there is no risk of producing undesirable phosphates through the rupture of the corals. Furthermore, there is no increase in latent salinity, nor an increase in oxygen depletion by carbon compounds. The manufactured solution is suitable for manual dosing and dosing pumps.

Ingredients:
Containing organic calcium salts. After mixing, 1000 ml of the solution will contain approx. 43,000 mg calcium and 6000 °dH.
Application and Dosage:
Before starting to use Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium as a supplement for your aquarium, it is advisable to adjust the calcium and alkalinity of your system to the desired values. We recommend using Tropic Marin® Original Balling - Part A (calcium chloride) for calcium and Tropic Marin® Original Balling - Part B (sodium bicarbonate) for alkalinity.
Preparation of the solution from the powder:
The 700 g can of Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium Powder is sufficient for a 5 liter dosing solution, the 1400 g can is suitable for a 10 liter dosing solution.
To prepare the liquid mineral mixture, dissolve 6 level measuring spoons (approx. 140 g) of Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium powder in approx. 900 ml of reverse osmosis water, resulting in a total of 1 l of dosing solution.
Dosage:
Start with a daily dose of 5 ml of Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium per 100 liters (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume. Increase the daily dose by 2.5 ml weekly for every 100 l of aquarium volume until reaching a constant carbonate hardness and calcium concentration.
Once the dosage is established and system parameters have stabilized, measuring calcium or alkalinity at regular intervals will monitor changes in your system and necessary dosage adjustments. The corresponding parameter needs to be monitored only periodically. We recommend that you use calcium as a dose regulator, as test kits are more sensitive (or accurate) in measuring changes in calcium concentration than changes in the alkalinity of Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium.
Maximum dosage:
We recommend that you do not exceed a daily dose of 25 ml of Tropic Marin® Carbo-Calcium per 100 liters (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume.
note:
In some cases, calcium and alkalinity may be consumed in proportions different from the coral's own needs. If this occurs and the parameters become unbalanced, consult the table to make the necessary corrections.
