No other trace element has as many effects as iodine. As one of the constituents of the thyroid hormone gland, it prevents goiter fish. It is necessary in the transformations into cancers and participating in the hardness of the chitin of the shells. Red coralline algae deposit iodine on the surface of the structures and axial skeleton of the gorgonians. Brown algae also accumulate iodine in high amounts.
As experiments show, Tropic Marin® Iod promotes light adaptation and coloration of anthozoans, especially in stony corals. Since the nature of iodine is unstable in saltwater aquariums, it must be replenished regularly. Tropic Marin® Iod contains iodine in the most effective form, as element I2.
Benefits:
- Lugol's solution for saltwater aquarium.
- Essential trace element for animals and invertebrates.
- It promotes light adaptation and coloration of anthozoans, especially in stony corals.
- Prevents goiter fish.
- Necessary in the transformations in cancers and participants in the hardness of the chitin of the shells.
- Suitable for an aquarium with saltwater fish, soft corals, LPS, SPS, other strainers and/or crustaceans
Ingredients:
potassium iodide and iodine
Application and Dosage:
Place one drop of Tropic Marin® Iod daily for every 200 l of total system water, near a circulation pump inside the aquarium. If a daily dose has been missed, skip this dose. Missed dosages should not be added. Iodine demand depends on population density. Dosage can be increased to maximum dosage in heavily populated aquariums.
