More info
The Gabonese fan shrimp (Atya gabonensis) is a large but very peaceful shrimp that prefers aquariums with a good flow of water (at least parts of the aquarium should have a good flow of water).
With us, the animals sit together all day in the moving part of the pool and filter the water for food particles. In doing so, they stretch their large fans into the current and repeatedly bring them to their mouthparts.
Since these are group animals, you should keep at least 3, preferably 5 or more, animals in an aquarium with a water content of 100 liters or more.
Reproduction works in a similar way to Amano shrimp: the larvae need salt water to develop. In nature, the larvae are washed downstream into brackish water zones.
When delivered, our animals are about 4-6 cm tall.
