More info
Microglanis are social and completely peaceful fish, but very greedy, which should always be taken into account. Fish up to about half the size of a Microglanis are considered prey. These fish are nocturnal and like to hide during the day, but after a period of acclimatization, they will also come out of hiding during the day, especially when fed. Breeding is rare but possible. These fish do not care for their eggs; the eggs are deposited in small portions on aquatic plants, for example.
In terms of water parameters, Microglanis are very adaptable and can be kept in tap water, but for breeding, soft and slightly acidic water is required. The water temperature should range between 22 and 28°C. They accept any standard ornamental fish food of an appropriate size and show no interest in plants.
