Description

The Berghia stephanieae, also known as the Stephanie's aeolid or the Spotted sea slug, is a species found in the Caribbean. It has a transparent body with small orange spots, giving it a unique appearance.

These sea slugs are primarily used in reef aquariums to control populations of unwanted Aiptasia anemones, as they feed exclusively on them. They are peaceful and safe to keep with other reef inhabitants, as they do not harm corals or other invertebrates.

Due to their specialized diet, it is important to ensure a sufficient population of Aiptasia anemones in the aquarium for the Berghia stephanieae to thrive. They do not require additional feeding as long as there is an adequate supply of Aiptasia anemones.
