Description
The Turbo Lunella (Lunella coronata) is a small marine snail highly valued in reef aquariums for its effectiveness in algae control. Its thick, spiral-shaped shell displays natural tones of brown, green, and grey, allowing it to blend well among live rocks.
This is a peaceful species, ideal for community tanks as it does not disturb other inhabitants. The Turbo Lunella is especially helpful in controlling green algae and diatoms, making it a great ally in maintaining a healthy aquarium environment.
Its diet consists mainly of algae, which it will continuously graze from glass surfaces, rocks, and substrate. In the absence of enough algae, it can be supplemented with dried seaweed (nori) or vegetable-based foods.
Reef compatible, the Turbo Lunella poses no risk to corals or invertebrates. However, it's important to ensure rock structures are stable, as its weight and movement may occasionally shift lighter decorations.
This small gastropod is low-maintenance and adapts well to tanks of 30 liters or more, making it an excellent choice for aquarists of all experience levels.
