Midas Blenny is an excellent candidate for reef aquariums. With a beautiful deep golden yellow, blue eyeshadow under the chin, and bright blue-rimmed eyes. When swimming, the movement they use is very similar to that of an eel.
This Blenny will appreciate a minimum tank of 100 Liters or more, with lots of rocks to lean on. Midas Blenny sometimes irritates small planktivores and is known to pinch Firefish and other gobies. Larger aquariums are an asset, as many of the Midas Blenny's aggressive behavior characteristics seem to be related to feeling cramped or lacking in space in the aquarium.
Unlike most blennies, Midas Blenny is a true omnivore and requires a diet rich in meat, including finely minced crustacean meat, vitamin-enriched mysis and brine shrimp, as well as frozen herbivorous preparations, micro and blue-green algae. They also accept good quality flakes or granules.
