Description
The Gobiodon okinawae, also known as the Okinawa goby, is a small species commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region. It has a vibrant coloration, with shades of yellow and green.
These gobies are known for their peaceful nature and their ability to form symbiotic relationships with certain corals, such as Acropora species. They create mutualistic partnerships, where the gobies inhabit the coral branches and provide protection, while benefiting from the shelter and food sources provided by the coral.
In a reef aquarium, Gobiodon okinawae is considered reef compatible, as it typically does not harm corals or other invertebrates. They prefer to have plenty of hiding spots and may benefit from a varied diet that includes small meaty foods specifically designed for carnivorous fish.
