Even fewer of these beauties show extra markings of white around their head bar.

Who is not fascinated to see the “Clown Fish” swimming between the tentacles of a sea anemone? Long before the release of the movie “Finding Nemo”, the “clownfish” or “anemonefish” (as they are known in English), already exercised an indisputable popularity among underwater photographers and documentarians, who are enchanted by the grace of their way of swimming. and the vivid colors of your body.

The Clarkii clownfish has a reddish-brown base color with white stripes and an orange forehead as an adult. Juvenile fish are yellowish orange in color with three white stripes on each side of the body.

The captive-bred Clarkii clownfish has other unique advantages over wild-harvested species. On the one hand, the captive-bred Clarkii clownfish is very hardy and more accustomed to the conditions found in home aquariums. Therefore, it is a great choice for beginners and experienced aquarists. The captive bred Clarkii clownfish can also be kept with a variety of other captive bred clownfish if introduced to the aquarium at the same time.

Captive-bred clownfish are easy to keep in a home aquarium. The females will be the largest of the pair, and two fish will usually stay close to each other in the aquarium. These fish are oviparous and lay their eggs on a flat surface and defend the eggs from other tankmates. Eggs typically hatch in 6-11 days, depending on the temperature. The fry should be raised in a separate aquarium on a diet of rotifers and then brine shrimp.
