Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' is another beautiful variety from the group of plants related to C. wendtii, with its well-structured reddish-brown leaves. It is only found in the Mi Oya River in Sri Lanka, where the water is very warm. The company Tropica was the first producer of aquatic plants to add this plant to its product range and commercially distribute it. This species is a variety of Cryptocoryne wendtii that is not very common in the hobby.
As one of the fastest growing Cryptocorynes of the wendtii group, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' is best placed in the middle of the field or at the bottom of smaller aquariums where it forms an attractive bush.
