Limnophila sessiliflora é uma planta bonita e pouco exigente do Sudeste Asiático. Uma ótima alternativa à Cabomba, que requer muita luz. Os caules crescem rapidamente até 40 cm de altura e têm 3-4 cm de largura. A planta geralmente fica pernalta com pouca luz, mas isso pode ser neutralizado até certo ponto estimulando o crescimento com a adição de CO2. Mais bonito quando plantado em grupos. Em boas condições de cultivo, ele envia corredores e espalha-se pelo fundo.
Limnophila sessiliflora costumava ser chamada de Ambulia.
