Pacíficas e sociáveis, são habitantes populares em aquários comunitários. Devem ser mantidas em grupos de pelo menos 4-6 indivíduos.
Proporcionar uma dieta variada irá garantir que os peixes estejam em ótimas condições.
Sob nenhuma circunstância eles devem sobreviver com "restos de comida" dos outros habitantes do aquário ou confiar em que servem apenas para "limpar" o fundo do aquário.
